Captain

Terms of use

Last updated: October 15, 2026

1. Who we are

Captain is operated by كابتن and connects customers in Iraq with independent providers: tradespeople and engineers for home services, shops that work by appointment or queue, and stores selling products and spare parts — plus auctions between users and the "Find a part" board.

By using the app you agree to these terms and to the privacy policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

2. Our role

The platform is a technical intermediary: it doesn't provide the services or sell the products itself and isn't a party to the agreement between you and a provider or seller. Each provider or seller is responsible for their work and goods and for matching what was agreed in the app.

Verifying providers' identity and reviewing their applications reduces risk but doesn't guarantee the quality of any work or the conduct of any user.

3. Eligibility and your account

You must be 18 or older. Accounts use an Iraqi phone number verified by a code, one account per person.

You're responsible for your details and for everything done from your account. Never share your verification code — our team will never ask for it.

4. Providers, shops and stores

Joining is by an in-app application with your personal details, work and documents (national ID and residence card, plus a practice licence — required for trades where our team requires one). Our team may approve it, return it for changes, or reject it with a reason.

You offer services only in your approved trades. To add another trade, you send a request with its documents (a practice licence where our team requires one for that trade, plus optional supporting certificates). Our team may approve or decline it with a reason, and may remove an added trade with a reason sent to you (such as an expired licence or repeated complaints) — your prices for it are removed and work in progress continues.

You agree to work professionally and safely, to hold what the law requires to practise, to describe your services, products and prices honestly, and to keep the appointments you accept. Verified names change only through support.

5. Provider subscriptions

Providers appear to customers and receive requests with a paid professional subscription, on a plan, duration and price set by our team and agreed with them. The platform takes no commission on any job or sale.

Subscriptions are settled directly with the Captain team, not through the app, and start the day the payment is recorded; their status, duration and payment history appear under “Subscription”. When one ends, the provider stops appearing and receiving new requests; ongoing work isn't affected, and price changes apply to future payments only.

6. Orders, prices and payment

Prices shown before ordering are a guide. The bill is only the items you approved in the app, and any extra part or work needs your approval first.

You pay the provider or seller directly, in cash when the work is done or on pickup/delivery. The platform doesn't collect order payments or store card details. Share a completion or receipt code only when you're satisfied.

7. Cancellation

Home services: cancelling is free before the pro sets off; repeated late cancellations may temporarily restrict instant orders. If a pro withdraws after accepting, you choose another pro or resend your request, and their ranking is affected.

Cancellation rules for bookings and store orders are shown on the order screen before you confirm and apply as shown.

8. Auctions

A bid is a commitment to buy at that price if you win: bids can't be withdrawn, and sellers can't cancel after the first bid. Payment and handover happen in person between the two parties.

A winner who fails to complete is recorded, the item goes to the second-highest bidder, and repeated failures bar the user from bidding.

9. Find a part

Your part's description and photos appear on a board other users can see, and people likely to have it are notified. Requests stay open for 7 days.

Replies are offers from their senders, not from the platform — inspect the part before you pay.

10. Prohibited content and conduct

We have zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. Not allowed: abuse, threats, harassment or discrimination; sexual or violent content; fraud, impersonation or fake reviews; offering or requesting anything illegal, such as weapons, ammunition, drugs, prescription medicines, stolen or counterfeit goods; sharing other people's data or photos without consent; spam.

You're responsible for the text and photos you post and give us a limited licence to display them in the app only to provide the service.

11. Reporting, blocking and moderation

The app checks text before it is published (messages, reviews, names and descriptions) and automatically rejects abusive words; our team keeps that list up to date.

You can report any message, review, provider profile, product, auction or part request, and block any user: you can no longer message each other, no new transaction can start between you, and their content is hidden from you. Our team usually reviews reports within 24 hours.

We may remove violating content and restrict or suspend accounts, and we'll tell the owner why.

12. Reviews

Reviews must be honest and about the transaction itself. We remove abusive or unrelated reviews.

13. Disputes

You can open a dispute during the work or within 48 hours after the order closes. Support reviews the chat and photos and hears both sides; its decision is final within the platform and doesn't affect your right to go to the competent authorities.

14. Deleting your account

Delete your account at any time from Account → Delete my account, unless you have a transaction in progress with someone else. The privacy policy explains what is erased and what remains.

15. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, the platform is provided as is, and we're not liable for harm caused by providers' services, sellers' goods or users' conduct, or for temporary outages. This doesn't affect any right that can't legally be excluded.

16. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms and will tell you in the app about material changes before they take effect. These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Iraq.

17. Contact

Chat live with our support team from Account → Contact support, or use Help & support in the app.
